After purchasing a prime block of land in the top-end suburb of Fannie bay, next challenge was to build the perfect home that suited the perfect location, a quiet tropical street nestled nicely between the Sailing Club, East Point, and the Parap shops. We wanted to create a spacious and airy home with plenty of room for potential for a large family, while keeping a minimalistic, yet functional design that connects the outdoors and pool area seamlessly with the main living areas. The team from Tropix Homes were excellent, bringing our ideas to life right through from the initial design phase, through to the details of the finishes we worked together to choose along the way and as the project neared completion. The design and finish quality is stunning, with Tropix Homes various trades all paying close attention to detail and delivering true craftsmanship. The outcome is exactly what we wanted, with the end-result closely resembling the 3D images that Ruth produced, with the added impact of top quality workmanship using high-end fixtures and fittings, and the high ceilings combined with abundant louvres and openings allow you to truly enjoy top-end tropical living.

We highly recommend Tropix Homes who are Darwin builders that specialise in custom designing and building. Tropix Homes designed and built our house in Humpty Doo in 2016. From the initial designing of the project, to the completion of the house, our expectations were exceeded the entire time. The statement on their website says it all “the quality of workmanship, one on one contact, and attention to detail”.
Tropix were always pleasant and courteous to work with, even when we made late variations they respected everything we asked for which helped us realise our vision for our house. The Tropix team demonstrated an outstanding level of planning, organisation, craftsmanship and safety while on site, which resulted in a stress free experience for us. They set high expectations of themselves and the subcontractors they engaged, the outcome being a collaborative approach that delivered a quality result, on budget and right on schedule. The high standard of workmanship and quality of materials selected for the job cannot be understated enough. The attention to detail and passion this team has to get the job done right the first time is a credit to them, and certainly shows in the end result. Through every conversation we had with any of the suppliers or subcontractors it was evident they had a high level of respect for Tropix and loved being involved in their projects. Even when we were in Europe for 2 months, their excellent integrity and communication kept the project moving forward. Building with the Tropix Team was fantastic from design to finish. As soon as we met Ruth Joel and Shane they gained our confidence and delivered an exceptional dream home that exceeded our expectations.
